FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart bowling team is ranked 12th in the December National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll, released on Wednesday.
The Pioneers went 4-2 in the first Northeast Conference meet of the season last weekend, hosted by Duquesne. SHU was the top scoring team on the weekend, averaging 193.3 pins per game. Tori Boughton led the Pioneers with a 20.70 frame average. The Pioneers won the FDU Jamboree on Nov. 5 and were second at the Hawk Classic on Nov. 19.
SHU is one of four NEC teams ranked in the top-25. Fairleigh Dickinson is 10th in the December poll, with LIU Brooklyn 14th and Saint Francis U 16th.
The Pioneers return to the lanes on Jan. 19, 2018 for the first day of the Kutztown Golden Bear Invitational.
