Field Hockey Concludes 2016 Season
The Sacred Heart field hockey team concluded the 2016 season with a 3-0 loss to Monmouth, who clinched the MAAC Regular Season Championship last Sunday, at Johnson Field Friday evening. The Pioneers finish the 2016 campaign 1-15 and 1-5 in conference play.

Pioneers Hand Van Der Merwe First Win 2-0 Over LIU Brooklyn
The Sacred Heart field hockey team gave Sydney Van Der Merwe his first win as a collegiate head coach Sunday as the Pioneers topped LIU Brooklyn 2-0 for the team’s first win of the season. Junior Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y.) led the way for SHU scoring both goals in the second half.

Hauser Scores as Pioneers Fall to Stags
Rebecca Hauser (Mohrsville, Pa.) netted her fifth goal of the season the Sacred Heart field hockey team’s 7-1 loss to Fairfield Friday afternoon. The sophomore was responsible for three of SHU’s eight shots and put two on goal.

SHU Comeback Cut Short on Senior Day
The Sacred Heart field hockey team saw their second-half comeback cut short Sunday afternoon at Johnson Field. Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y.) and Danielle Gallagher (Clayon, Del.) both scored late to cut into the Bulldogs’ lead, but the Pioneers fell to Bryant 5-2 on Senior Day.

Field Hockey Blanked by Rider
The Sacred Heart field hockey team was shut out by Rider Friday evening at Johnson Field. Pioneer goalkeepers Emily Degennaro (Wading River, N.Y.) and Lauren Musselman (Bethlehem, Pa.) combined for seven saves, but SHU fell to the Broncs 3-0.

After finishing the second overtime still tied at one, the Sacred Heart field hockey team lost the shootout 3-0 to fall to Siena 2-1 on the road in the Pioneers’ MAAC opener Sunday afternoon.

After a tough first half that saw neither team score, the Sacred Heart field hockey team fell to Dartmouth 3-0 Sunday morning at Johnson Field. Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y.) accounted for half of the Pioneers’ six shots, as the team falls to 0-7 on the season.

SHU Comeback Cut Short in Loss to Brown
The Sacred Heart field hockey team had its comeback cut short Friday afternoon at Brown. With SHU down 5-0, Rebecca Hauser (Mohrsville, Pa.) netted the Pioneers first goal of the game in the 57th minute. A few minutes later, Colleen McAninley (Sewell, N.J.) got a pass from Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y.) making it just a three-goal game. Unfortunately, the final buzzer halted the SHU offense, and the Pioneers drop to 0-7 on the season.

Holy Cross Second Half Comeback Leads to SHU Loss
Kelsy Hopkins (Ambler, Pa.) gave SHU a 1-0 lead at halftime with a goal in the seventh minute, but Holy Cross staged a second-half comeback to take the game 2-1 Sunday afternoon.

SHU Shutout by Hofstra
The Sacred Heart field hockey team was blanked by Hofstra Friday night at Johnson Field. Junior Christina Gotthold (Middleton, Del.) led the Pioneers with four shots, putting three on goal, on they fell 5-0. The loss drops SHU to 0-5 on the season, while Hofstra improves to 2-3.

Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y.) got the Sacred Heart field hockey team (0-3) on the board to start the second half, but the Pioneers could not overcome the first-half deficit and fell to Lock haven (1-0) 8-1 on Friday in the 2016 home opener.
