    WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team suffered its second MAAC loss of the season, as the Pioneers fell to Monmouth on the road, 4-1, Sunday afternoon. Makenna Crawford scored SHU’s lone goal in the contest. The Pioneers return to action on Friday, Oct. 19, when SHU plays host to MAAC-foe LIU Brooklyn at 7 p.m.
  • Field Hockey Earns First MAAC Win in 2-1 Victory over Bryant

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team snapped its losing streak, as the Pioneers defeated MAAC-foe Bryant, 2-1, Friday afternoon. Kelsy Hopkins and Colleen McAninley each tallied a goal for the Pios in the win, with McAninley’s goal being the game-winner. The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 14, when SHU travels to take on MAAC-foe Monmouth at 1 p.m.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team?s losing streak extended to five games, as the Pioneers fell to Brown, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Johnson Field. Makenna Crawford and Marlena Koellner each tallied a goal for the Pios in the loss. The Pioneers return to action on Friday, October 12, when SHU travels to take on MAAC-foe Bryant at 4 p.m.

  • Field Hockey's Alyssa Stevens Named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

    FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Red-shirt goalkeeper Alyssa Stevens was named the MAAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday morning. Stevens is the second Pioneer player to earn the honor, as Allie Brouhard took home the award earlier this season.

Colleen McAninley scored the Pios lone goal in the loss. The Pioneers return to action on Friday, September 28, when SHU takes on Fairfield at 12 p.m. at Johnson Field.

Makenna Crawford scored the Pios lone goal in the loss. The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, September 23, when SHU takes on Yale at 1 p.m. at Johnson Field.

Colleen McAninley scored the Pios lone goal in the loss. The Pioneers return to action on Tuesday, September 18, when SHU plays host to Hofstra at noon.

    HANOVER, N.H. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team earned its second win in a row, as the Pioneers defeated the Dartmouth Big Green 3-2, at Thompson Arena on Friday afternoon. Marlena Koellner scored a goal and Colleen McAninley scored twice, with her second goal being the game-winner. The Pioneers return home to Johnson Field as they look to stretch their winning streak to three games against UMass Lowell on Sunday, September 16 at 2 p.m.
  • SHU Field Hockey's Brouhard and Kruk Earn MAAC Weekly Honors

    Sacred Heart University field hockey had numerous players earn MAAC weekly awards as senior Allie Brouhard was named the Defensive Player of the Week and freshman Kayla Kruk was named Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

    After falling to No. 21 Albany on Saturday, the Sacred Heart University field hockey team bounced back and defeated Villanova, 2-1, at home on Sunday afternoon. Kelsy Hopkins and Kayla Kruk each tallied a goal in the win, with Kruk’s goal being the game-winner.

  • Field Hockey to Return to NEC in 2019

    Somerset, NJ - Field hockey will return to the Northeast Conference (NEC).   NEC Commissioner Noreen Morris announced that the Division I athletics league will re-instate field hockey as a championship sport for the 2019-20 academic year.

Bridget LaRiccia and Makenna Crawford tallied a goal in the win. The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, September 8, when the Pioneers host Albany in its first home game at Johnson Field in New Haven, Conn. at 1 p.m.
  • Bedel-Franklin Scores Game-Winner in Field Hockey's 3-2 Win Over Towson

    TOWSON, Maryland - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team earned its third win of the season, as the Pioneers defeated Towson, 3-2, in overtime on the road Sunday afternoon. Allie Brouhard, Bridget Hopkins and Kayla Bedel-Franklin scored in the win, with Bedel-Franklin’s goal being the game-winner in overtime. The Pioneers return to action on Monday, September 3, when the Pioneers travel to take on Saint Francis University at 11 a.m. in Washington, D.C.

    The Sacred Heart University field hockey team suffered its first loss of the season, as the Pioneers fell to Georgetown, 2-0, on the road Friday afternoon. Kelsy Hopkins and Kayla Bedel-Franklin led the way with two shots on-goal apiece in the loss.

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team opened the 2018 season with a 3-2 over Lock Haven win on Friday. The Pioneers received goals from Kelsy Hopkins, Olivia Lehane and Bridget LaRiccia in the win.
  • Lariccia Named To All-MAAC Preseason Team; Pioneers Selected Fifth In Coaches' Poll

    With the 2018 field hockey season set to begin on Saturday, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its preseason Coaches' Poll and Preseason All-MAAC Team on Tuesday. Sacred Heart University sophomore Bridget LaRiccia (Denville, N.J.) was the lone Pioneer selected to the preseason team.
