Field Hockey Falls to Brown, 3-2

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team's losing streak extended to five games, as the Pioneers fell to Brown, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Johnson Field. Makenna Crawford and Marlena Koellner each tallied a goal for the Pios in the loss.

The Pioneers return to action on Friday, October 12, when SHU travels to take on MAAC-foe Bryant at 4 p.m.

The Scoring

  • (31:35): Makenna Crawford scored an unassisted goal to give SHU a 1-0 lead

  • (43:30): Danielle van Rootsel knotted the score at 1-1

  • (60:24): Rachel Lanouette sent a pass over to Corrine Condie, who directed it into the back of the net

  • (62:55): van Rootsel took a shot on net but it was redirected by Lanouette past the keeper for a 3-1 lead

  • (66:07): Allie Brouhard sent in the corner to Kelsy Hopkins, who shot on net. Koellner redirected the shot into the back of the net to cut Brown's lead to 3-2
