Griffin and Morris Conclude Teams Shows at the IHSA National Championships

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian team completed its final shows at the IHSA National Championships this afternoon.

Senior Megan Griffin took fifth place in the Advanced Western Horsemanship show which is a first in program history for a Pioneer Western rider to win a ribbon at Nationals. Meanwhile fellow senior Logan Morris capped off her collegiate riding career with receiving an honorable mention ribbon in the Novice Western Horsemanship show.

The Pioneers cap off a remarkable year with SHU placing in the top 10 in the nation in team Hunt Seat Equitation while senior Cariann Johnson became just the fourth rider in program history to place in the top ten in the Cacchione Cup. To start it all was freshman Elissa Palmier who placed tenth in the Team Novice Fences and ninth in the Team Novice Flat.
