FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sophomore Isiah Daubon and freshman Justin Jordan of the Sacred Heart University baseball team earned Northeast Conference weekly honors for their standout play this past week. Daubon was named Player of the Week while Jordan garnered Rookie of the Week honors.
The award was the first of the season for Daubon and it was the second time this season that Jordan earned Rookie of the week honors.
Daubon produced at least one hit and one run in each of Sacred Heart's four games last week while reaching base at a .600 clip. He hit two doubles and two dingers en-route to a 1.000 slugging percentage and went 6-for-12 (.500) at the dish while driving in five runs during a NEC series victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. He reached base safely 10 times and scored three runs during the three-game set.
Jordan hit safely while driving in at least one run in all of the Pioneers' four games last week. In SHU's three-game set against Fairleigh Dickinson, he accounted for seven hits, six runs and four RBI. The outfielder recorded at least two hits, two runs and one RBI in each of the three contests against FDU and batted .467 (7-for-15) during the weekend series.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday, April 5, when SHU plays host to Wagner at 3 p.m.
