Parker Sets NCAA Single-Game Assist Record In Sunday Win

The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team won for the fourth time in five games, defeating non-conference visitor Pine Manor College, 101-57. The Pioneers improve to 4-4 on the year with the win, while the Gators, fall to 1-6.

Pioneer sophomore Cameron Parker set an NCAA single-game record with 24 assists. The previous mark, 22, was shared by four players, most recently Oklahoma's Trae Young on December 19, 2017 versus Northwestern State. Parker tied the record with 6:59 to play, feeding E.J. Anosike in the paint. The record setter came 32 seconds later, again to Anosike, while Anosike was the recipient of number 24, at the 5:13 mark. Parker had 15 assists in the first-half of play.

Koreem Ozier scored a career-best 30 points and Anosike had his third double-double in the past five games, with 26 points and 14 rebounds

The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to UMass Lowell. That 7:00 pm game will be available on ESPN3

The Turning Point

  • Leading 24-15 midway through the first-half, Tyler Thomas scored five straight points to push the lead into double digits, where it would stay the remainder of the game
  • That stretch sparked a 25-12 half ending run that pushed the lead to 22, 49-27 at the break
