Wrestling Falls to Binghamton 25-9

BINGHAMTON, N.Y.- The Sacred Heart University Wrestling team fell to EIWA rival Binghamton this afternoon by a final score of 25-9. The Pioneers will return to action in the new year when SHU competes at the David Lehman Open at Franklin and Marshall on Saturday Jan. 4.

The Pioneers were able to pick up three bout wins first coming in the 133 pound weight class as sophomore Anthony Petrillo won by decision against Tomasso Frezza 6-2. In the 149 bout junior Nick Palumbo won by decision against Matt Swanson 6-4 to even the match a 6-6 overall. The third bout win by sophomore Robert Hetherman by decision over Nunzio Crowley 3-1 gave SHU the final nine points of the match to result in the 25-9 defeat.
