Inside the Series...

  • This is the fourth meeting in the all-time series, which currently stands with the Wildcats having the advantage 2-1 over the Pioneers
  • SHU is 1-1 at home against UNH in the series, and 0-1 on the road
  • If the trend continues, with the Wildcats taking the odd matches and the Pioneers taking the even, in their fourth matchup the Pioneers will look to come out on top and even the series 

Scouting the Wildcats...

  • The Wildcats broke a five- game winning streak losing to Yale 64-58, moving their overall record to 6-3
  • New Hampshire currently stands 3-1 at Lunholm Gym- nasium, taking advantage of their home court

Last Time They Met...

  • Hannah Kimmel led the Pioneers with 20 points as SHU suffered a 81-69 loss to New Hampshire
  • Kelcey Castro added 15 points for the Pioneers, shooting 50% beyond the arc making 3 of her 6 three point attempts
  • UNH started things off early, capitalizing off a turnover from the Pioneers giving them the 3-0 lead. A 14-6 run gave the Pioneers the lead early, 14-9. A late layup from Spoto gave the Wildcats the 19-18 advantage at the end of the first quarter
  • Exchanging baskets until the halftime buzzer, the teams went into the break 34-32 in favor of the Wildcats
  • UNH came out firing in the second half putting up eight un answered points, before Williams answered with a made 3 pointer to close the gap 42-37. The Wildcats outscored the Pioneers 24-17 in the third quarter giving them a 9 point lead going into the last quarter
  • Nine points was as close as the Wildcats allowed SHU to get as they managed to close out the fourth quarter 81-69

Reaching Milestones...
With her 17th point, and seventh field goal, against Siena, Adaysha Williams eclipsed the 1,000 career points milestone. The senior led Sacred Heart to the 62-58 win over the Saints with a career-high-tying 22 points as she became the 20th Pioneer in program history to reach the milestone.

Pioneers on the Road...
Sacred Heart goes into Sunday's game 2-3 on the road after most recently falling to Hartford, 81-64, earlier this month. The Pioneers picked up their first two wins of the season on the road against Fairfield, 56-44, and Binghamton, 77-69.

Strong First Half...
The Pioneers shot an impressive 46.7% in the first quarter against Siena but struggled  later on, ending the night shooting just 36.1% after a slow second and third period shooting 29.4% and and 33% respectively.

Storck Pulling Em Down...
Sophomore Erin Storck is coming into her own since making her first career start against Lehigh. The Commack, N.Y. native pulled down eight rebounds Monday against Siena, marking her second time leading the team in rebounds this season. She also lead the team with nine rebounds against Buffalo earlier in the Season. 

Capitalizing on Turnovers...
Sacred Heart has been successful getting points off of turnovers, especially Monday night when they scored 17 of their 62 points after the Saints of Siena turned the ball over. 

Taking Advantage of the Line...
Sacred Heart sits fourth in the Northeast Conference shooting 70% from the free throw line. SHU has stood out in the month of December shooting 82.4% against Siena, 75% versus Monmouth, and 78% against Hartford at the charity stripe. 

Haines reaches 100 Rebounds...
After missing the 2015-16 season due to an injury, Katherine Haines reached the 100 rebound milestone after collecting a rebound against Siena. Haines sits 2nd on the Pioneers, and 15th in the NEC averaging 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Pioneers in December...
With the 62-58 win over Siena, SHU is now 1-2 in the month of December giving the Pioneers a .519 winning percentage (54-50) in the month since joining the Division I ranks prior to the 1999-00 season.

Inclusive Scoring...
For the first time this season, every Pioneer who hit the court put points up on the scoreboard against Siena Monday night. Adaysha Williams led the way with 22 points, while the other seven players averaged 5.71 points. Erin Storck posted eight, and Shelby Hickey and Tykera Carter each had seven.
