The 19th ranked Sacred Heart University bowling team opened the second Northeast Conference weekend of the season with a 3-0 record, and moved into third place in the conference standings at 6-3 in league action.
The Pioneers opened the day with a 1,085-959 win over 17th ranked Fairleigh Dickinson. Tori Boughton led four Pioneers over 200 in the match with a 245.
SHU then dropped Saint Francis University with a 937-841 victory, that saw Rachel Bamford equal Boughton's first match score of 245.
The Pioneers finished the first day with a win over #13 Mount St. Mary's, 921-889. Boughton once again led the SHU effort, with a 194.
Bamford counted a team-best 629 pins, 209.7 per match, on Saturday. Boughton was close behind, at 206 pins a match, while Caitlyn Kelley averaged 204 a match. Kelly bowled 222 against FDU and 200 versus Saint Francis.
The Pioneers wrap-up the NEC meet Sunday, with a pair of matches. SHU starts the morning against #10 Duquesne, before meeting St. Francis Brooklyn and Long Island University. The Dukes are atop the NEC standings at 8-2, with four wins on Saturday. LIU went 2-1 on Saturday and is in second place at 7-2.
