    Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving Head Coach John Spadafina announced the signing of 16 new members to join the team for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

  • Cielo Named Hartford HealthCare Connecticut Courage Award Winner

    Senior Bryana Cielo of the Sacred Heart University swimming and diving team, has been chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America, in association with Hartford HealthCare, a recipient of the Hartford HealthCare Connecticut Courage Award. Rebecca Lobo, the program ambassador, will present Cielo with a plaque virtually and SHU with a $1,500 donation to the general scholarship fund in Cielo's name to help future students achieve their dreams.

  • Martin Takes Third In Three Meter Dive While Swimming and Diving Place Sixth

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team concluded the final day of competition at the Northeast Conference Championships tonight. SHU took sixth place overall with 277 points. The Pioneers didn’t leave East Meadow with clinching a medal as sophomore Molly Martin took third place in the three meter dive to conclude the day.

  • Swimming and Diving Sits In Seventh Place After Day One At NEC Championships

    The Sacred Heart University swimming and diving team opened its 2020 Northeast Conference Championship with the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Style Relay finals. Through the first two events of the four-day championship, at Nassau County Aquatic Center the Pioneers have 50 points and are in seventh-place in the team standings.

    Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving sophomore Molly Martin was tabbed Northeast Conference Diver of the Week for the fourth straight time this year. The award comes right before the Pioneers head off to the NEC Championships beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 19. 
  • Swimming and Diving Concludes Regular Season With 155-144 Victory Over St. Francis Brooklyn

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team concluded the regular season on a high note this afternoon as they defeated St. Francis Brookyln this afternoon by a final score of 155-144. The Pioneers now set their eyes on the Northeast Conference Championships which kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Swimming and Diving Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Status for Eighth Straight Year

    The Sacred Heart University women's swimming and diving team earned Scholar All-America status from the Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America for the Fall 2019 semester. This is the eighth straight year the Pioneers have taken this honor.

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team defeated Siena this afternoon by final score of 170-126 as the team honored seniors Victoria Catizone, Bryana Cielo, Shanna Haddow, Sarah Hensal, Julia Pusateri, Nikole Rudis, and Lauren Somers. The Pioneers will return to action Saturday Jan. 25 when the team competes at Monmouth. The meet begins at 1:00 p.m.

    Due to inclement weather approaching for Saturday's meet against Siena, the Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team as pushed the start time of the teams meet from 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 a.m. Senior day ceremonies will continue as planned.

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team picked up its first Northeast Conference win of the season over newcomer Merrimack this afternoon by a final score of 143-104. The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday, January 18 when SHU hosts Siena at McCann Natatorium and honor the seven seniors on the team for senior day. The meet begins at 12:30 p.m.

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team completed the final day of competition at the Blue Devil Invite tonight. The team took second out of three teams as Wagner took first with 1842.5 points, SHU in second with 1148.0 points, and host Central Connecticut came in third with 1130.5 points. The Pioneers will return to action on Wednesday Dec. 4 when SHU competes at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Atlanta, Ga.

    The Sacred Heart University Women's Swimming and Diving team split its dual meet tonight as SHU defeated Providence for the first time in program history 144-135 while the Pioneers were edged by host Rhode Island by a combined score of 170-106. SHU will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 10 when travels to face Assumption. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.

    Sacred Heart University Diver Megan McLaughlin was named Northeast Conference Diver of the Week as announced by the NEC this afternoon. This is the first weekly award McLaughlin has been awarded this season.
  • School Records Broken as Swimming and Diving Concludes Meet at Stony Brook

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team completed its meet today as the Pioneers defeated LIU 152-142 and fell to host Stony Brook 158-140. The Pioneers will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 6 when the Pioneers face Providence and Rhode Island. The meet begins at 6:00 p.m.
  • Swimming and Diving Concludes Quad Meet at Iona

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team concluded its quad meet at Iona this afternoon. The Pioneers fell to Wagner 164-79, edged by Saint Francis (N.Y.) 127-116 and lost to Iona 166-71. SHU returns to action on Saturday Oct. 26 when SHU competes at Stony Brook as well as face LIU. The meet begins at 12:00 p.m.

    The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team fell to Northeast Conference rival Central Connecticut State this afternoon by a final score of 183.5 to 116.5. The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 when SHU competes at Iona. Swim begins at 11:30 while Diving begins at 9:00 a.m.
