WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- The Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving team fell to Monmouth this afternoon by a final score of 155-107. The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday February 2 when SHU travels to face St. Francis Brooklyn. The meet begins at 10:30 a.m.

Senior Lauren Somers had the best day for the Pioneers as she took first in 100 and 200 freestyle with times of 1:55.15 (200), and 53.44 (100). and was a member of the 200 free relay with Nicole Tingley, Grace Bergstrom, and Emily Peter that took first as well the touched the wall with a time of 1:42.39. Tingley also took first in the 200 meter butterfly with a time of 2:15.46. First-year Casey Barrett did a season best time in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:01.11. Diving was uncontested as Monmouth does not have a diving team.
